I was delighted to receive SICSA's Best PhD Dissertation Award at this year's PhD Conference. My thesis, titled Enhancing Privacy for Secure Internet Communications Using ILNP, explored how minor changes in Layer 3 protocols can improve identity, location, and data privacy without disrupting existing applications or infrastructure. A further discussion of the award and my work is available in this interview.

Rather than merely providing a theoretical solution, I build these defences as an extension to the FreeBSD kernel. The source code for this implementation is available here. At the award ceremony, my commitment to open science was highlighted as a significant strength of my work. I believe the scrutiny open science invites, and the accessibility it provides, are excellent tools for strengthening the quality of scientific work -- I was excited to see this approach celebrated, and remain committed to it going forwards.

In addition to the code release, I have published two chapters of my thesis here and here. I am currently preparing to submit the final section, which will hopefully be published later this year, after which I will be able to lift the embargo on the thesis itself.
